Job description

Position Title: Transportation Shuttle Driver (evenings and weekends are required)

Job Summary: Responsible for the safe operation of the University Shuttles for the Transportation department of Alvernia University.

Essential Functions:

2. Provide transportation services for Alvernia University
3. Record statistical ridership
4. Provide daily inspection, report, and maintain fuel level and cleanliness of vehicles
5. Be friendly and courteous towards customers
6. Obey all governmental laws and guidelines pertaining to safe transport
7. Be punctual and adhere strictly to schedules to avoid delays in transportation

Qualifications/Education:

3. High School Diploma
4. CDL certification with air brake endorsement
5. Medical certifications as deemed necessary for CDL endorsement

Additional Comments, Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in repairs and maintenance on equipment and vehicles
2. Perform safety checks regularly
3. Responsible for filing reports on equipment, delays, incidents, or accidents
4. Maintain open communication with drivers and staff
5. Occasionally assist in additional utility functions

Physical Requirements:

1. Attendance is required to perform the duties of this job
2. Health and wellness certifications as required by law and policy to provide transportation services
3. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
