Job summary

Edlavitch DCJCC is seeking a dependable Building Maintenance Associate to support the safe, clean, reliable operation of its facilities in the Washington, DC area. This part-time role requires hands-on maintenance across building systems and spaces.

You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and assist with HVAC and plumbing tasks while ensuring safety and quality in a busy, public-facing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Approx. two years of building/facilities maintenance experience.
• General maintenance practices knowledge.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and manuals.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Carry out carpentry, painting, drywall, and fixture repairs as needed.
• Replace light fixtures and other maintenance components as authorized.
• Assist with HVAC/mechanical system maintenance and report needs.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and document work orders.
