Job Description

The Part-time Building Attendant position is located at Shorty Howell Park Activity Building in Duluth, Georgia. The role involves performing general janitorial and landscape duties, setting up and breaking down for events, classes, and programs. The ideal candidate should have good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to monitor activities inside and outside of the facility.

Essential Duties

1. Opening and closing the facility, locking/unlocking doors, setting the security alarm, and performing daily checks of all points of entry to ensure safety.
2. Reporting needs and concerns to appropriate staff, including submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels.
3. Ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
4. Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
5. Serving as rental attendant by providing excellent customer service while monitoring usage.
6. Completing data entry, communicating via email, preparing basic weekly/monthly reports, and ordering supplies.
7. Performing other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Grade

• The Grade for this position is 97. The salary will be based on education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Knowledge of basic janitorial duties.
• Knowledge of landscaping duties.
• Knowledge and use of computer equipment and software.
• CPR, First Aid, & AED certification.

Other Job Requirements/Information

• This is a civilian position in a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background may be required, including motor vehicle and criminal history checks, credit checks, and fingerprinting.
• This job may require on-call rotation and emergency work during after-hours, weekends, or holidays.
