Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. in Rochester, MN seeks a customer-focused Bow Technician to support bow services and in-store repairs. You will set up bows, tune, repair, string, and advise customers on maintenance.

  • Maintain an orderly workspace and attend required training meetings.
  • Answer questions about location, price, and use of merchandise.
  • Stock shelves and assist with vendor parts orders.

Starts at $19+/hour (Experience dependent)

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evening, weekends, and holidays, must be available every other weekend. Average hours per week is 20 hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Carefully follow instructions per the specific requests of the customer, while maintaining safety requirements
  • Service bows include:
  • Setting up bows with accessories
  • Tuning Bows
  • Repair of bows
  • Stringing bows
  • Communicate the process of repair and suggestions for ongoing maintenance
  • Maintain an orderly and immaculate appearance of personal workspace, archery bench, back stock space, and surrounding areas
  • Attend sales and product knowledge training meetings when required
  • Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
  • Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
  • Contact vendors to order and follow up on repair part orders
  • Assist with customer trade‑ins

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to also exert up to 50 - 80 lbs of pulling force regularly.
