Xtend, Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeping Specialist to support credit union partners with daily bookkeeping and exception processing. You will balance ledgers, post entries, and prepare end-of-day reports while communicating through Zendesk and email.

The role emphasizes accuracy, discretion, and reliability, with standby coverage for others and quarterly GL duties. A short part-time schedule supports flexible availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in business-related field preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to exercise discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
• Strong visual acuity for close-range, detail-oriented work.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with CU*BASE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily bookkeeping procedures for credit union clients per policies.
• Post and balance journal entries for ACH, Share Draft, Credit Cards, ATM, and statements.
• Prepare and deliver daily end-of-day reports showing GL status.
• Communicate with credit union staff via Zendesk and email to obtain reports.
• Perform end-of-month close activities including GL balancing and reconciliation reporting.
• Provide backup coverage for other Bookkeeping Specialists as needed.
• Assist with stand-in service coverage when requested by credit unions.
• Complete special balancing projects approved by management.
• Perform Bookkeeping Associate duties for one credit union per quarter for disaster recovery.
