Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is hiring a Part-time Bookkeeper for a local animal shelter. The role is hybrid, with approximately 20 hours per week, and involves managing day-to-day accounting, payroll, and reconciliations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of QuickBooks experience, understands payroll accounting and payroll tax reporting, and can work independently to keep records audit-ready.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting.
• Understanding payroll accounting and payroll tax reporting beyond data entry.
• Full-cycle bookkeeping experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and organized accounting files.
• Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Complete month-end journal entries.
• Reconcile bank and investment accounts.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for about 40 employees.
• Prepare quarterly payroll tax documentation.
• Review invoices and purchase orders for accuracy.
• Communicate with vendors as needed.
• Compile documentation for the annual audit.
• Support budgeting with the Executive Director.
