Reports to: Senior Management

Experience: Min. 2 years’ experience

Salary: up to $25/hour – subject to experience

Role: Part-time, typically, 25-30 hours/week, specific hours to suit successful candidate

STEQ America markets and distributes technical manufacturing associated capital equipment-based solutions and generates technical sales and support for state-of-the-art European developed equipment and brand building, to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets throughout North America.

The Role

STEQ is in search of an experienced bookkeeper to assist the company with day-to-day bookkeeping activities.

This is presently an on-site, part-time position – based in our Fort Washington Offices

Key Objectives

✓ Recording Financial Transactions

✓ Payroll Processing with an external payroll provider, including LST and other local tax submissions

✓ 401k Preparation and Processing with an existing scheme

✓ Basic Compliance and Audit(s) preparation

✓ Simple Tax Support but supported by an outside CPA business

Responsibilities

✓ Recording Financial Transactions

✓ Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions using accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.

✓ Ensure accuracy of the general ledger by reconciling accounts and addressing discrepancies.

✓ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

✓ Reconcile bank and credit card statements with internal records.

✓ Monitor expenses and track down occurrences of abnormal purchasing.

✓ Processing payroll and tracking payroll data

✓ Assisting with tax payments and returns.

✓ 401k Preparation

✓ Accounts Payable and Receivables

✓ Track invoices, payments, and overdue accounts.

✓ Ensure compliance with internal or external audits.

✓ Tax preparation with external accountants to assist with tax returns.

Requirements

✓ Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance preferred.

✓ Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.

✓ Robust understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.

✓ Experience with staged payments and international billing.

✓ Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

✓ Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

✓ Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and client interactions.

✓ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

✓ Certification as a bookkeeper or accounting technician is a plus.
