Job summary

Bonneville Seattle, home to Seattle Sports and KIRO Newsradio, is seeking a part-time board operator to manage the on-air and production workflow for our daily sports talk shows. This on-site role involves keeping accurate transmitter and program logs, operating the studio console, and ensuring air-ready content on schedule.

The position requires proficiency with Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Audacity, NewsBoss, and Zetta, plus the ability to collaborate with hosts and producers to deliver timely,

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Proven ability for accuracy and follow-through and ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced, collaborative, deadline driven team environment.
• Have good attention to detail and work well with on-air deadlines.
• Ability to understand and execute format philosophy and work with a team of other professionals in creating a distinctive sound.
• Ability to accept direction and be flexible with changes.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with co-workers and others and able to clearly and accurately communicate, receive and interpret instructions.
• Able to work under pressure and effectively handle the stresses of the responsibilities of the position and assure on-air hosts receive material for broadcast on time.
• Reliable, dependable and able to work scheduled hours and flexible hours as needed in order to provide coverage for last minute scheduling needs.

Responsibilities

• Full focus and ownership of shift on-air console operations including maintaining logs and airing commercials per logs.
• Become an expert at our audio console, Adobe Editing, NewsBoss, and Zetta.
• Edit and post daily podcasts.
• Maintain accurate logs.
• Air emergency alerts.
• Find, record, edit and mix audio on deadline.
• Screen calls professionally.
• Coordinate mix of music and sound for shows; ensure proper levels.
• Cross-train for shifts and fill in as needed.
• Assist producers in creating varied content and on-air commentary.
