Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking a Part-Time Courier in Gainesville, FL to transport blood and products between clients and LifeSouth branches. Responsibilities include preparing items for shipment, verifying records, and maintaining documentation.

Available Shift: Second Shift - 2:00pm to 10:30pm; some night, weekend, and on-call hours required. Starting salary range is $14.00 - $15.40 per hour. Equal Opportunity Employer. Must pass background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and LifeSouth driver’s eligibility.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule (nights, weekends and on-call).
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Must be able to do basic math (addition, subtraction, proportions, percentages).
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds; frequent standing, walking, lifting; occasional stooping and climbing.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect delivery vehicle daily for supplies, cleanliness, proper operating condition and compliance with laws.
• Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or other agencies.
• Collect blood products and deliver to components laboratory.
• Run errands, deliver documents, pick up supplies and transport small items for repair.
• Load/unload and deliver materials to the branch and customers.
• Operate hand truck to move shipments.

Education
