Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Biometric Entry Management at our Somerset, NJ location. You will help manage entry points, verify credentials, and provide friendly, professional service to employees and visitors.

This part-time role offers day and weekend shifts with the flexibility of our Claim a Shift platform. You will patrol entrances, monitor access-control systems, respond to incidents, and maintain

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology-focused corporate location by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry points and access-control systems, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate visitor and contractor records in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, lobbies, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, and facility concerns.
• Assist with maintaining a professional, orderly environment by communicating clearly with employees and visitors and escalating security-related concerns according to site procedures.
