Job summary

ABA Centers of New Jersey in Edison, NJ is seeking a part-time Behavior Technician (BT) to support autism therapy across homes, schools, and clinics. Starting pay is $22.25 per hour with compensation adjusted by experience and training.

Training provided with pathway to RBT certification. Responsibilities include direct client support, delivering ABA therapy under BCBA supervision, teaching communication and daily living skills, and maintaining accurate session data.

Qualifications

• NJ candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, in healthcare, or in a related field.
• Availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and driving record review.
• Position-Specific training: BT 40-hour paid program over 2 weeks, then precepting; RBT exam within 45 days.
• RBT path: Active certification in good standing; paid training and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Direct client support.
• Deliver ABA therapy in homes, schools, communities, or clinics.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Implement individualized treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
• Track progress and maintain data quality.
• Collect, organize, and document session data.
• Collaborate with BCBAs, team members, and families.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing training.
• Assist with administrative and clinical tasks as needed.
