Job summary

Cherokee County School District is seeking a Part-Time Behavior Intervention Strategist to develop and implement specialized behavior intervention plans and provide training to teachers and staff.   • Provide individualized student consultation with central office administrators in coordination with teachers and school administrators.
  • Monitor, collect and analyze data on trainings and behavior interventions provided to teachers and students.
  • Conduct trainings for staff as determined by need analysis.
  • Participate in Central Office planning and support meetings.
  • Work with parents, teachers and administrators to ensure consistent home-school behavior management approaches.
  • Attend student-related meetings to support student success.
  • Develop liaisons with outside agencies and service providers and submit required reports on time.
  • Maintain accurate records of consultations and ensure compliance with laws and policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree or higher in General Education, Special Education, Behavior Analysis, or a related field preferred. Valid Georgia Educator Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Professional Standards Commission. Two or more years of experience working with children in an area of behavioral analysis to include writing, training and evaluating academic and behavioral programming and expert knowledge of numerous data collection methods.

GOAL

Develop and assist with implementation of specialized behavior intervention plans and/or strategy assistance in consultations with district and school level personnel in the area of behavior management for students in the Response to Intervention process.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a resource in the development and implementation of specialized behavior intervention plans to teachers, staff and administrators for students with behavioral challenges in the general education setting.
  • Provide specialized training in classroom organization and management, academic and behavioral programming from pre-K through high school.
  • Provide training to teachers, staff and administrators on evidence-based practices in behavior management to include direct modeling of specific strategies while working with the student(s) in the classroom setting.

  • Provide trainings and on-going staff development in the area behavior management.

  • Serve as a District resource in developing policies, procedures and forms necessary to support students with behavioral needs.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, faculty and administrators, to ensure an integrated approach that promotes student success.

  • Provide individualized student consultation as requested by central office administrators, in conjunction with teachers and school administrators.

  • Monitor, collect and analyze data on trainings and behavior interventions provided to teachers and students.

  • Conduct trainings for staff as determined by need analysis.

  • Participate in Central Office planning and support meetings.

  • Work collaboratively and supportively with parents, teachers and administrators to ensure appropriate home-school communication and a consistent approach to behavior management.

  • Attend student-related meetings as necessary to ensure the success of the student in the school.

  • Develop liaisons and collaborative relationships with outside agencies and service providers.

  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of all consultations and submit required reports in a timely manner.

  • Carry out duties in accordance with federal and state laws, Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, and established State and local School Board policies, regulations and practices.

  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures.

  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.

  • Follow federal and state laws, and Board policies.

    Perform other duties as assigned.
