The Coffee Oasis is seeking a Barista / Kitchen Staff member to join our Bremerton team. You will greet customers, prepare espresso drinks and food items, and help maintain a clean, welcoming café environment while supporting youth programs.
Experience in a fast-paced café is preferred, but a willingness to learn and a commitment to safety and teamwork are essential. This part-time position offers meaningful work and opportunities to grow within our nonprofit mission.
No two days as a Barista / Kitchen Staff member look exactly the same. Your day may include greeting regular customers, preparing espresso drinks, learning food recipes, or helping a busy café run smoothly. You'll create a welcoming environment by taking orders, answering questions, sharing menu recommendations, and providing friendly, attentive customer service.
You'll also prepare and serve food items such as sandwiches, breakfast burritos, pastries, muffins, and cookies, following established recipes and preparation procedures. Throughout your shift, you'll help maintain a clean and sanitary café, stock supplies, handle customer transactions, and work alongside your team to keep daily operations running efficiently.
Whether you're preparing someone's favorite drink, learning a new recipe, or helping a customer feel welcome, you'll contribute to a positive café experience while supporting The Coffee Oasis mission and the youth in our community. Staff may be scheduled at different café locations, including Bremerton, Port Orchard, Poulsbo, and Tacoma, based on business needs.
The Coffee Oasis is a Christian non‑profit organization that exists to create pathways of opportunity for youth to be restored in heart, soul, mind, and body. We believe youth are the future of our community, but many are hurting, homeless, and hindered from living to their full potential. The Coffee Oasis youth programs offer a place for the community to invest in their future‑the youth.
We do this through creating safe shared spaces, mentorship, street and school outreach, goal setting, job training, shelter, and crisis services. The cafés offer a "third place" for the community to gather and buy products with the added value of all profits returning to create opportunities for youth.
This is a part time role with approximately 25 hours per week available. Compensation for this role ranges from $17.78 to $21.00 per hour. This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful career while working alongside compassionate professionals who are dedicated to making a difference in our community.
The Coffee Oasis employees accrue paid sick leave, paid vacation leave, and are eligible for our 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match of up to 4%. Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for additional benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Group Life Insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions (when enrolled in an eligible medical plan), paid holidays, and other benefits in accordance with plan eligibility requirements.
