Job summary

Martin's Super Markets in Saint Joseph, MI is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to support café operations and guest services. Responsibilities include preparing beverages and food, operating the cash register, and maintaining a clean, stocked department.

You will demonstrate friendly communication with customers, handle payments, and follow safety and store programs. High school diploma or GED preferred; one year of retail experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee shop beverages; brew, mix and/or blend beverages according to set standards.
• Prepare food items according to procedures.
• Ensure food and beverages are handled in a safe manner and per guidelines, in a clean environment.
• Operate cash register to itemize customer purchases and process payments.
• Stock items and rotate Coffee items and merchandise displays.
• Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations.
• Notify department lead or manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Comply with Company policies regarding cash handling and product handling.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department; follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Communicate store programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers; model high service standards.
• Follow PPE and Safety Guidelines; food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines; may be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
