Job summary

Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo – a DoubleTree by Hilton in Hawaii, seeks a part-time Banquet Houseperson to support events and meetings. You will set up and tear down spaces, handle linens and equipment, and ensure clean, safe work areas before and after functions.

You must be able to lift heavy items, work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends, and collaborate with planners, kitchen teams, and guests to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina to stand and lift 50–75 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Room setup & teardown: arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and AV equipment per BEOs.
• Cleanliness & maintenance: vacuum carpets, mop floors, polish fixtures, empty trash, organize storage.
• Transport linens, ice, water, and service supplies; assist servers/kitchen during events.
• Adhere to health, safety, and security policies; report equipment or facility damage.

Join our team at the Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo- a DoubleTree by Hilton as a Banquet Houseperson. This is a part-time position. The banquet houseperson prepares, sets up, maintains, and tears down event and meeting spaces in hotels, clubs, or conference centers. They handle heavy furniture, stage layouts according to floor plans, manage linens and equipment, and keep public and back-of-house areas clean and safe.

Compensation:

$16 per hour

Qualifications:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand or walk for long shifts and frequently lift, push, or pull heavy items (typically 50 to 75 pounds).
• Attention to Detail: Capacity to read room diagrams and execute exact event layouts.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as event schedules demand.
• Teamwork & Communication: Good interpersonal skills to coordinate smoothly with planners, kitchen teams, and guests.

Responsibilities:

• Room Setup & Teardown: Arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and audio-visual equipment following Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Cleanliness & Maintenance: Vacuum carpets, mop floors, polish fixtures, remove trash, and maintain organized storage closets.

• Safety & Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and security policies, and report equipment or facility damage to management.
