Job summary

Westerfield Club in Tuscaloosa, AL, part of Troon, seeks a part-time Banquet Captain to coordinate events and lead banquet staff. You’ll review menus, conduct pre‑banquet meetings, and ensure proper setup and service for memorable guest experiences.

The role requires a positive, learning‑oriented candidate with HS diploma or GED, 3–6 months of related experience, and compliance with alcohol service age rules. ServSafe/TIPS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience.
• 3–6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
• ServSafe Certified Food Manager (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate banquet functions and staff to ensure smooth events.
• Review assigned banquet staff functions and menus prior to events; conduct pre‑banquet meetings.
• Ensure quantities of items (china, glassware, linens, etc.) are available and inventoried.
• Check room setup, coordinate with Banquet Chef on food items and timing.
• Audit service levels during functions and optimize upsell opportunities.
