Job summary

Stillman Bank is seeking a part-time Teller in Rockford, IL to greet customers, process deposits and withdrawals, and support daily banking services with accuracy and courtesy.

You will verify instruments, handle cash, assist with loan and tax payments, and proactively suggest bank products while maintaining privacy and compliance. On-site role with some Saturday rotation and light physical activity.

Qualifications

• Age 17 or older
• Positive, friendly and welcoming personality with excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with computers and standard equipment operation
• Experienced with cash handling or customer service responsibilities
• Able to recognize issues of significance and prioritize work

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a prompt, professional and friendly manner and support a positive, welcoming and customer-focused environment
• Assist customers in preparing necessary documents to complete transactions
• Examine and verify negotiable instruments for customer identity, amount, and endorsements
• Accept and process deposits and withdrawals to customer accounts using software and scanners, and issue appropriate receipts to customers
• Count cash and coin manually and verify with electronic counting devices
• Cash checks within authorized limits and disburse currency upon verification of signatures and funds
• Receive and process loan payments, tax payments and safe deposit box payments, issuing receipts
• Prepare cashier checks and money orders, sell gift cards and license plate stickers
• Balance cash drawer daily and assist with ATM balancing
• Suggest products and services to customers by identifying needs and explaining solutions
• Accept check orders and other requests and forward to appropriate department
• Document and report customer problems for quality control
• Maintain customer privacy and confidentiality
