Harris Teeter: A Premium Brand of Community Involvement

This is a part-time position. The primary responsibility is to Take Excellent Care Of Our Customers by satisfying needs, exceeding expectations, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. This includes following proper bagging procedures, providing carryout and parcel pickup, loading merchandise into vehicles, and returning shopping carts.

To succeed, individuals must perform essential duties satisfactorily. The listed requirements reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed. Reasonable accommodations are available for those with disabilities. Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

PERSONAL SKILLS. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to complete required training and work with the team to enhance customer satisfaction and sales.

LANGUAGE SKILLS. Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Effective in presenting information one-on-one or in small groups to English-speaking customers and colleagues.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS. Ability to perform addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers.

REASONING ABILITY. Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. Completion of Harris Teeter's training programs, including new hire orientation, customer service, safety, bagging skills, and product knowledge.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS. The role requires standing, walking, handling, reaching, talking, hearing, and smelling regularly. Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Must regularly lift/move up to 40 pounds and reach from 6 to 72 inches. Vision requirements include close and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT. The work environment is typical for retail, with accommodations available for disabilities.
