Job summary

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach Aviation Meteorology for undergraduate pilot students. The role involves delivering classroom and online instruction that emphasizes applying weather theory to flight planning, aeronautical decision-making, and safe operations.

The ideal candidate has extensive aviation experience and a passion for education; FAA credentials preferred and college-level teaching is a plus. Compensation is based on experience.

Qualifications

• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating (CFI preferred).
• Recent aviation experience with practical weather decision-making.
• Strong communication and instructional skills.
• Ability to explain complex meteorological concepts to student pilots.

Responsibilities

• Teach Aviation Meteorology to undergraduate pilot students.
• Deliver classroom and/or online instruction linking weather theory to flight planning.
• Develop lectures connecting meteorology to real-world flight operations.
• Instruct on atmospheric structure, fronts, clouds, storms, turbulence, icing, fog, weather products, charts, METARs/TAFs/NOTAMs.
• Incorporate FAA guidance and current aviation weather resources.
• Evaluate student performance through exams and assignments.
• Maintain attendance and grade records; hold regular office hours.
• Foster a professional environment emphasizing critical thinking and aeronautical decision-making.
