Job summary

Lake Orion High School in Lake Orion, Michigan is seeking an Auditorium Technical Assistant to support a wide range of events in the school’s auditorium. You will supervise LOHS Theatre students, operate light or sound boards, and assist with maintenance and upkeep of the auditorium, including the scene shop.

Starting Sep 1, 2026, this part-time role requires technical theatre experience, the ability to pass a background check, and the physical capacity to lift 50 lbs and work at heights.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of technical theatre experience.
• Ability to pass a background check to work with students.
• 18+ years old.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise renters in Auditorium.
• Run light board or sound board.
• Move scenery backstage (including operation of fly system).
• Manage backstage areas.
• Assist with event setup and takedown, including orchestra shell.
• Work with LOHS students during rehearsals on lighting, sound, set construction, painting, props, costumes, makeup.
