Job summary

Mills County is seeking a part-time Attorney to provide legal services on a temporary basis while the County conducts its search for a full-time employee.

This is a temporary, part-time position requiring up to 11 hours per week. Schedule can be arranged to accommodate the successful candidate's availability.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active license to practice law, OR substantial equivalent experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of municipal/county government operations preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and support to Mills County departments and officials
• Review and draft contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents
• Research legal issues and provide guidance on county matters
• Assist with compliance and risk management issues
• Other duties as assigned
