Job summary

Tacoma Community College seeks a Part-Time Certified Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training and medical coverage for home contests, tournaments, and drop-in hours. You will deliver professional injury care, concussion management, and post-event follow-up, in alignment with TCC, NWAC, and state standards.

Responsibilities include on-site coverage, emergency response, HIPAA/FERPA compliance, and coordination with coaches and medical staff.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Athletic Trainer license or eligibility for licensure.
• Current BOC certification or eligibility for certification.
• Current BLS/CPR and AED certification for healthcare providers.
• Experience providing athletic training coverage in an intercollegiate or competitive sports setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training coverage for assigned TCC home contests and tournaments.
• Provide appropriate preventive care, injury evaluation, first aid, emergency care, and injury management during assigned events.
• Independently assess athletic injuries and medical concerns and exercise professional judgment regarding immediate care, referral, and follow-up.
• Respond to injuries and medical emergencies and activate emergency action procedures when necessary.
• Provide concussion assessment and management in accordance with standards.
• Coordinate with coaches, officials, EMS, visiting trainers, and other personnel regarding student-athlete medical needs.
• Complete injury reports, medical documentation, and game-day records.
• Provide post-game evaluation, care instructions, and follow-up recommendations.
