Job summary

West Iron County Public Schools is seeking a part-time Athletics Director to coordinate interscholastic sports and athletic activities. The role emphasizes administration, policy compliance, scheduling, budgeting, and community relations.

The position reports to the Principal and Superintendent and requires BA/BS and coaching/administrative experience. The district offers a flexible schedule under a negotiated contract with additional game payments based on event level.

Qualifications

• BA/BS from an accredited university or college.
• Secondary coaching experience and experience in school administration are preferred.
• MIAAA participation or similar athletic associations are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient execution of all school policies for the athletic program and comply with MHSAA/NFHS rules.
• Foster good school–parent relations and communicate rules and sportsmanship.
• Schedule athletic contests and manage district event organization, transportation, and staffing.
• Oversee budgeting, ticketing, facilities, and equipment; supervise staff and volunteers.
• Represent the district at athletic meetings and promote teams in media and events.
