Job summary

NBC 10 WJAR Providence New Bedford, a Sinclair-owned station, seeks a part-time producer/writer for a live daily news-talk program. The role requires newsroom or live program experience and the ability to adapt quickly.

You will write copy for newscasts, edit video, post stories online and on social media, operate the teleprompter, and assist with story research alongside producers. A 4-year degree in Journalism or Mass Communications is required, with flexibility across shifts.

WJAR, Southern New England's News Leader and one of America’s most-watched television stations, has a rare opportunity to help produce a live, daily news-talk program on television. This show is driven by a dynamic host covering current events and compelling topics and includes guests and interaction with our viewers. The ideal candidate will follow the news closely in Southern New England and nationally, be flexible and work quickly. This is a part‑time position with the possibility for advancement. Previous experience in a newsroom and/or with a live program are required. Guest booking, research, editing, writing and social media management are some of the responsibilities in this position.
