Job summary

Children’s House Montessori in West Roxbury, MA is seeking a dedicated part-time assistant teacher. The role supports lead teachers in a Montessori setting for preschoolers, supervising during meals and play, aiding classroom upkeep, and leading afternoon music and art activities.

Experience in Montessori environments is preferred; Montessori certification is helpful, and EEC Essentials 2.0 is required or in progress. Health and dental insurance are available to staff.

Description

Children’s House Montessori, a two-classroom preschool in West Roxbury, is looking for a dedicated early childhood Montessori educator to join our staff immediately.This is a part-time position, likely two full days and one afternoon per week (20-25 hours). The educator would support lead teachers in a self-contained classroom; supervise children during individual snack and lunch times, on the playground, and during quiet rest time; help to clean the classroom throughout the school day; and lead music and art activities during the afternoon.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate models patience and grace in the classroom, has experience working in a Montessori environment with preschool age children, and can support afterschool art, music or exercise instruction.Montessori certification is preferred but not required. Educators who are currently in training to become a Montessori teacher are encouraged to apply. EEC teacher qualifications and completion of EEC Essentials 2.0 are required.
