Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. You will work alongside the Master Teacher to support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth.

In this role you will help deliver age-appropriate lessons, maintain a safe and organized classroom, engage with children during daily activities, and communicate regularly with families.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and commitment to safety.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with families.

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Master Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands‑on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Master Teacher in delivering age‑appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Master Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $11.00-$14.00 per hour, based on experience and education.

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and prior experience in a licensed childcare center are a plus, but not required. We hire for character and train for skill.
