Job summary

Sunrise Preschools is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help create a nurturing classroom where children explore and grow through hands-on learning. You will work with the Lead Teacher to deliver lessons, support daily routines, and engage with families to ensure a warm, safe environment.

Requirements include being 18+, a HS diploma or GED, and the ability to pass a background check. Prior childcare experience is valued, with training provided as needed.

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $15.20-$16.00 per hour, based on experience and education.

Requirements
