Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Erie, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise handling, organize stockrooms, and help maintain displays.

You will help supervise and train Store Associates, strive for excellent service, and ensure safety and policy compliance while maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor, keep seasonal areas maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for impact and accuracy.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and secure assets.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
