Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in New Orleans to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities and supervise associates to maintain a welcoming, well-organized shopping environment.

Responsibilities include merchandising flows from truck to floor, opening/closing duties, handling payroll/scheduling, and ensuring loss prevention. The role emphasizes safety, product presentation, and superb customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties (standing, walking, climbing).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and reporting.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll/scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized store areas per company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team.
• Ensure bathrooms and store are clean and presentable; manage waste and cleaning tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
