At Hot Topic, we’re passionate about a few things: music, pop culture, and creating the most amazing in-store experience for our customers and employees.

We’re on the search for a Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 2 that will help lead the loudest store in the mall. You’ll support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives regarding sales targets, recruiting, and development. You’re Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker rolled into one; you can handle anything that comes your way while driving sales and building lifelong relationships with our customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support your Store Manager in achieving the sales plan and/or comparable sales goals.
  • Help recruit, develop, and retain a passionate, collaborative team to run your store alongside you.
  • Create buzz and customer engagement through promotion of new products, social media, and additional services like BOPIS and curbside pickup.
  • Provide leadership to ensure the store operates soundly, balancing operations, delegation, autonomy, and customer-first selling practices.
  • Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate schedules.
  • Communicate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends and customer feedback.
  • Analyze sales reports and use data to guide strategies to meet sales targets.
  • Merchandise the store effectively, leveraging planograms and launching promotions on time.
  • Partner with your Store Manager to develop a high-performing, customer-focused team of associates.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
  • Experience leading successful teams, with skills in communication, recruiting, operations, and team development.
  • Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operations, with a drive to develop your team.
  • A high school diploma or GED; degrees are a plus.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and handle the fast-changing retail environment.
  • The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds.
