Job description

At Hot Topic, we’re passionate about a few things: music, pop culture, and creating the most amazing in-store experience for our customers and employees.

We’re on the search for a Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 2 that will help lead the loudest store in the mall. You’ll support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives regarding sales targets, recruiting, and development. You’re Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker rolled into one; you can handle anything that comes your way while driving sales and building lifelong relationships with our customers.

Pay range starting at $12.00/hr - $13.80/hr.

Please note the pay range for this position starts as listed, but other factors such as education, location, meeting minimum requirements, training, and experience will determine the final salary for new hires.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support your Store Manager in achieving sales goals and overall store performance.
  • Help recruit, develop, and retain a passionate, collaborative team.
  • Create buzz and customer engagement through promoting new products, social media, and services like BOPIS and curbside pickup.
  • Provide leadership to ensure operational excellence, balancing operations, delegation, and customer-focused selling.
  • Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate scheduling.
  • Communicate with retail leadership and HQ on trends and customer feedback.
  • Analyze sales reports and use data to inform strategies to meet sales targets.
  • Merchandise the store effectively, leveraging planograms and launching promotions timely.
  • Partner with your Store Manager to develop a high-performing, customer-focused team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1-2 years of retail management experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
  • Proven success in leading teams, with skills in communication, recruiting, operations, and team development.
  • Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operations.
  • A high school diploma or GED; degrees are a bonus.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and handle fast-changing retail environments.
  • Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds.
