Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a big part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merchandise they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and support daily operations and sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customers to return, showcasing your product knowledge and customer service skills.
  • Step in and support the team as needed, covering sales floor duties and assisting the management team.
  • Open and close the store as required, taking responsibility for store security and operations.
  • Operate the register, process sales, and use your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales and benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup.
  • Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
  • Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
  • Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
  • Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
  • Support stock room organization and store cleanliness.
  • Help develop a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
  • Perform any other activities assigned by your Store Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • At least 1 year of retail experience, especially if you love music and pop culture.
  • Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, and operations, with a drive to develop your team.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and handle merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
