Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a significant part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits, support daily operations, and help meet sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages repeat visits. Showcase your product knowledge, customer service skills, and enthusiasm for fandom.
• Step in and support the team when needed, covering the sales floor and assisting the management team as required.
• Handle store opening and closing duties responsibly.
• Operate the register, process sales, and promote additional benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup, using your fandom expertise to drive sales.
• Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs like UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Help maintain an organized stock room and a tidy store environment.
• Contribute to building a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, operations, and leadership.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
