Part Time Assistant Coach / Men's Volleyball

Title of Position: Assistant Coach - Men’s Volleyball (Part Time)

Position Reports To: Head Coach / Men's Volleyball

Overview:
Manhattan University, a NCAA Division I institution, and member of the Northeast Conference (NEC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time position as Assistant Coach for the Men’s Volleyball Program to recruit, develop and retain qualified student-athletes and assist in all aspects of conducting the program. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes.
  • Assists with preparation of practice and competition including scouting duties.
  • Assists with on-court practice and competition at home and away sites.
  • Assists with the planning of road trips, team meals and travel itinerary.
  • Assists with recruiting visits and itineraries.
  • Drive team van to away matches.
  • Volleymetrics film assessment + scouting reports.
  • Responsible for using ARMS software to maintain and update activities regarding the program.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with student-athletes, colleagues and administrators.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of full-time prior experience at the NCAA DI/II level.
  • Assertive, outgoing, hard-working and resourceful.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Required to travel and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, alumni, and community.
