Job summary

College of DuPage in Illinois is seeking an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach (part-time) to lead practices and games, ensure eligibility, and support recruiting efforts. The role requires coaching knowledge, leadership, and a commitment to student-athlete development.

You will coordinate with Admissions, handle travel logistics, monitor conduct, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. An associate degree or equivalent coaching experience is required, with strong communication

Qualifications

Associates degree or combination of education and coaching experience equivalent to 2 years is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of innovative and proven coaching strategies and techniques is required.
Ability to provide mentoring and leadership to student-athletes and a commitment to student-athlete wellness.

Responsibilities

Provide coaching leadership consistent with the College of DuPage mission, vision and core values.
Manage day-to-day operations of the sport, including practices and games.
Monitor eligibility and academic progress requirements for student athletes.
Recruit prospective student athletes from high schools following NJCAA guidelines.
Adhere to college policies related to team budgets and finances.
Assist in travel and transportation arrangements and handling of funds for team travel.
Monitor sportsmanship and conduct of student-athletes on and off the court.
Attend coaches department meetings and recruit.
Perform other duties as determined with the Athletic Director.
