Responsibilities

• Coaching position players and working with pitchers and catchers as assigned.
• Calling pitches, running bullpens during practice, assisting with hitters and pre‑game batting practice.
• Position player positioning, coaching first or third base, and practice and game preparation.
• Organizing game charts and advanced scouting charts.
• Recruiting and assisting with field maintenance, game day field prep, and uniform oversight.
• Assisting in camps, clinics, academic study hall instruction, and weights & conditioning instruction.
• Fundraising and volunteer event participation.
• Attending all practices, games, staff meetings, retreats, and required volunteer events (e.g., annual golf tournament fundraiser, Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest, awards banquet).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous college baseball coaching or college/professional playing experience required.
• General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, NJCAA and NCAA policies and compliance issues.
• Ability to recruit, coach, and improve talented student athletes.
• Leadership, professional behavior, and teamwork skills.
• Positive atmosphere development within the athletic department and college.

Physical Demands

Up to 25 pounds of force occasionally; sedentary work with occasional walking or standing. Requires frequent use of a personal computer or laptop, working weekends and evenings, extensive travel within Las Vegas valley and the state, and occasional out‑of‑state travel. Must be able to throw batting practice and swing a coach’s fungo bat.
