Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facilities services company, is seeking a part-time armed Security Officer in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves patrolling government sites, maintaining a visible presence, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will monitor assigned areas, respond to incidents, and complete reports while adhering to procedures and safety regulations. The position offers flexible shifts and the opportunity to work with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government services location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and contractor activity; report suspicious conditions, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, and other security-related observations.
