Job summary

YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley seeks an Archery Instructor/Open Shoot Attendant to lead safe archery sessions, teach fundamentals, and maintain a welcoming, well-organized range for youth and families.

This part-time role requires USA Archery Level 1, the ability to adapt lessons to different ages, strong communication, and a commitment to the YMCA’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of archery experience preferred.
• USA Archery Level 1 certification required before teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental archery skills with range safety and proper form.
• Plan age-appropriate lessons, activities, and drills.
• Maintain a safe, organized archery range following YMCA policies.
• Inspect and maintain bows, arrows, targets and equipment.
• Enforce range rules and safe practices consistently.
• Adapt instruction for different ages and abilities.
• Provide encouragement and feedback to participants.
• Model character development and respect for others.
