Job summary

City of Dover is seeking a part-time aquatics instructor to teach swimming to all ages and coordinate safety and program activities. The role includes greeting the public, collecting registrations and fees, and assisting with facility maintenance.

The position requires a high school diploma, at least two years’ teaching aquatic programs, and lifeguard/WSI/CPR/First Aid certifications. Hours vary and pay is $17.55 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and a minimum of two years experience teaching aquatic programs.
• Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor (WSI), CPR and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming skills to all levels for individuals from infants to seniors.
• Patrol pool, enforce safety rules and conduct safety drills.
• Greet the public and handle fees and registrations.
• Maintain pool facilities and monitor water chemistry.
• Supervise aquatics classes and assist with events.
• Respond to public inquiries about programs and schedules.
