Job summary

The South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston, SC seeks an Education Programs Instructor (Part Time) to serve as an ambassador through on-site and off-site programs, teaching curriculum-based school programs and camps while engaging guests.

You will work with Lead Education Program Instructors to plan and create programming, deliver engaging presentations, participate in outreach, and support various audience needs including families and school groups. Must be able to mornings/evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or 2 years’ experience in science, interpretation, education or related field.
• Preferred at least one year experience in interpreter or education field.

Responsibilities

• Teach K-12 school programs for groups of visiting students.
• Participate in outreach programs.
• Serve as counselor for Aquarium camps.
• Deliver education programs in engaging and effective ways.
• Relate conservation issues into accessible information.
• Engage guests through shows, tours, and gallery interpretation.
• Assist in member and community programs.
