Job summary

South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston, SC seeks an Education Programs Instructor (Part Time) to serve as an ambassador through on-site and off-site programs, teaching curriculum-based school programs, participating in offsite outreaches, instructing camp sessions and engaging with guests.

You will work with the Lead Education Program Instructors to plan and create programming, deliver dynamic education, and relate conservation topics to diverse audiences, including families and students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or 2 years' experience in science, interpretation, education or related field.
• Preferred at least one year experience in interpreter or education field.
• Valid Driver's License; First Aid/ CPR/AED training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Teach K-12 school programs for groups of visiting students.
• Participate in outreach programs and camp sessions.
• Deliver education programs in engaging and effective ways.
• Relate conservation issues to diverse audiences.
• Support visitor engagement and assist in member/community programs.
