Job summary

Summit Medical Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join The Office of Dr. Bozeman, a division of Summit Medical Group, in Sevierville, TN. This part-time, on-site role requires clinical experience in a clinic setting and TN licensure as an APN or PA.

Responsibilities include physical exams, chart reviews, ordering labs, patient education, and coordinating care with physicians. ANP/PA training and TN licensure are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
• Minimum of three years of previous patient care experience in a clinic setting, plus two years of APN or PA experience is required.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in State of Tennessee, or current Physician Assistant licensed to practice in State of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete physical exams, obtains complete medical histories, and records findings.
• Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
• Orders (and, as appropriate, performs) appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Determines preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans by obtaining, interpreting and integrating data.
• Posts tests and examination results as appropriate.
• Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments, educates patients/family regarding health and illness prevention, and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Assists physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
• Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
• Triages nursing and family telephone calls and provides consultation.
