Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks qualified applicants to establish a pool of part-time and substitute instructors to teach foundational courses in Artificial Intelligence as part of the college's Certificate of Proficiency and Associate of Applied Science in AI programs. The rate of pay is $875 per credit hour, with instruction delivered in-person, hybrid, or online.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge or experience with artificial intelligence concepts and tools (e.g., machine learning, generative AI, data analytics, prompt engineering).
• Strong communication and instructional skills appropriate for college-level teaching.
• A combination of education and significant industry experience may be considered in place of formal degree requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and student-centered instruction aligned with NWACC's AI curriculum and learning outcomes.
• Introduce students to foundational AI concepts, terminology, and real-world applications across business, education, healthcare, and technology.
• Facilitate discussions on the ethical, social, and economic implications of artificial intelligence.
• Demonstrate practical use of AI tools and platforms and guide hands-on projects.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work and assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance in accordance with college policies.
• Stay current with emerging AI tools and integrate new technologies into instruction where appropriate.
• Participate in orientation, meetings, and professional development activities.
• Use the LMS to post materials, communicate with students, and assess assignments.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and responsible use of AI.
