Job summary

Mercor is seeking data analysts and spreadsheet specialists for a research project with a leading AI lab. You will conduct real data analysis and spreadsheet work on your Mac, helping to benchmark and improve AI models.

This role suits students in masters programs or candidates with 2-3 years of experience and a strong background in Excel and BI tools. The position offers a flexible, part-time schedule (~10-20 hours/week) with an immediate start.

Qualifications

• Own a MacBook or Mac with M-series chip or Intel processor, macOS 15+ required
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, financial/operational models)
• Experience with SQL, Python/R, or BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelor's from a prestigious institution
• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning while you work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Part-time commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week
• Complete and narrate real data analysis and spreadsheet tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models
• Responsibilities are clearly structured without high pressure typically found in internships or full-time consulting roles
• Immediate start preferred
