Job summary

Alvin Community College is seeking qualified part-time instructors for the Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department. This pool supports available assignments during the academic year, with interviews by phone or email for shortlisted candidates.

Instructors must hold a Basic Life Support Instructor Certification (AHA) and have experience leading American Heart Association courses. Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends is required, with up to 19 hours per week

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required and BLS instructor certification.
• Familiar with AHA protocols and equipment.
• At least 1 year experience as a BLS/ACLS instructor.

Responsibilities

• Instruct AHA courses and ensure safe learning environment.
• Follow course outlines and assess student outcomes.
• Maintain safety procedures and classroom standards.
• Engage students and provide timely feedback.
• Submit required reports and participate in program operations.
• Collaborate with CEWD Director and department.
