Job summary

University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine seeks a part-time, hourly BLS Instructor to deliver AHA Basic Life Support courses. Under supervision of simulation leadership, you will provide high-quality CPR instruction in line with AHA guidelines and support competency-based training across the SOM enterprise.

Responsibilities include preparing course spaces, maintaining equipment, and evaluating learner performance.

Qualifications

• Deliver clear, effective instruction to diverse learner populations.
• Documentation tracking and compliance with AHA standards.
• Ability to work independently in a session-based, variable schedule environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain AHA BLS Instructor certification within 2 months of hire.
• Facilitate AHA BLS courses per current curriculum, including Heart Saver and Healthcare Provider tracks as assigned.
• Prepare course space, equipment, and manikins prior to each session; inspect and report maintenance needs.
• Evaluate learner competency against AHA performance standards and provide timely feedback.
• Complete and submit course rosters, completion records, and eCard documentation on time.
• Maintain current AHA BLS Instructor certification and complete updates/renewals.
• Complete center instructor orientation and adhere to all center policies.
