Job summary

West Suburban YMCA in Newton, MA is seeking dynamic individuals for a part-time School Age Child Care role. You will supervise children in a state-licensed program and deliver activities aligned with YMCA values.

The position offers 20–26 hours per week with hourly pay from $15.50 to $17.00, depending on experience. We value flexibility, inclusion, and a supportive work culture that welcomes all staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children.
• Ability to provide direct care to school-age children.
• Ability to support distance learning assignments remotely at the YMCA.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications and training within 30 days of hire.
• EEC training/registration prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children.
• Plans and implements activities that are culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate.
• Supports academic learning being done remotely by students.
• Adheres to safety and cleanliness standards.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Engages with families and maintains positive relations.
