Job summary

NIA Community Services Network, Inc. in New York is seeking a part-time Teacher/Instructor to plan and lead structured activities in a designated specialty area after school. You will work with a Group Leader and other staff to deliver engaging, safe programming for participants.

The role emphasizes behavior management, classroom maintenance, and timely lesson planning. A high school diploma and some college coursework are expected, with preferred experience in education or youth development.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience teaching or facilitating group activities with students.

Responsibilities

Report all concerns regarding the wellbeing of participants to immediate supervisor in a timely manner and no later than the conclusion of the last activity of each day.
Seek immediate supervisor or emergency assistance when a participant is injured.
Verify identity before dismissing participants to approved guardian as listed on participant enrollment form.
Submit lesson plans for each activity by due date and conduct activity according to approved plans.
Submit NIA material requests for approval by supervisor.
Actively assist with activities led by specialists or colleagues.
