Qualifications

Position: Afternoon Support Teacher

Join Primrose School at Brier Creek as an Afternoon Support Teacher from 1:00-6:00 pm. All applicants should expect to work until 6 pm and must be available Monday to Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage daily classroom activities for a group of children.
  • Follow all rules and regulations related to health, safety, and care of children, as per Primrose School at Brier Creek and applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Implement approved lesson plans and daily schedules aligned with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive classroom environment that promotes exploration and decision-making.
  • Provide verbal recognition and set clear behavioral expectations for children.
  • Handle classroom maintenance, housekeeping, and playground duties as necessary.
  • Maintain a professional appearance according to the Employee Handbook guidelines.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the Director or designee.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
  • Have a valid NC Background Check Qualifying Letter from the NCDCDEE. More information is available at https://ncchildcarecbc.nc.gov/.
  • Previous experience in teaching or assistant teaching in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., including infants into and out of cribs for Infant and Toddler teachers.
