Job summary

Temple Sinai Preschool in Oakland is seeking an Afternoon Preschool Support Teacher to join our nurturing team. This part-time role runs 12:30pm–5:30pm, Monday–Friday, with pay rates of $23.00–$26.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience.

The position emphasizes contributing to a warm, inclusive classroom environment, partnering with teaching teams, and supporting curriculum and daily routines that reflect Jewish holidays and values.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in an early childhood or early elementary education setting.
• Minimum of 12 ECE Units required.
• Up to Date Mandated Reporter Training Certificate.
• Health screening and TB test.
• Immunization records (MMR, Tdap, and Influenza).
• Pediatric CPR/First Aid.
• Completion of all required Community Care Licensing (CCLD) paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Support curriculum and daily routines reflecting Jewish holidays, traditions, and values.
• Foster an environment reflecting B’tzelem Elohim, Kavod, and Kavanah.
• Help create meaningful, inclusive experiences that support children’s emerging identities and sense of belonging.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Maintain confidentiality for all children, families, and colleagues.
• Attend required staff meetings and school events as outlined in the employment contract, including occasional evening or weekend commitments.
• Be a flexible and supportive member of the school community.
